Amy Elaine Passick, age 51, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church (206 SW Walnut Street). The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, also at the church. A private family committal will take place at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Amy was born on April 15, 1972, in Marshalltown, Iowa, and was a graduate of Ankeny High School. She met Aaron Passick in 1989 while both working at Dillow’s Supervalue and they were married on January 29, 1994.

Amy enjoyed crafting, gardening, scrapbooking, and baking. Above all else, she enjoyed supporting their children, going to their sporting events, school events, Boy Scouts, and teaching Sunday school.  Her children were her life and as her health declined, she still wanted to attend ball games as much as she could.

Amy was a strong woman, never giving up, standing up for herself and her family.  She endured multiple cancer diagnoses and other medical conditions, but she never gave up.

Those left to cherish her memory include her spouse, Aaron Passick; children, Alex, Aidan, and Ava; mother, Hazel Kerr; her siblings, Kevin (Robin) Kerr, Owen (Deb) Kerr, and Heidi (David) VanErsvelde; as well as her nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Ross; her brother, Byron Kerr; and many aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mercy One Cancer Center, especially Dr. Elhaddad and Dr. Elsawy, the staff and nurses of Iowa Ortho, Dr. Nwosa and Dr. Aderibigbe.  They would also like to thank their great friend, Karen Dozler, who was consistently there for them through so much.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family.
