Barbara Jones

December 22, 1958 - February 27, 2023

Barb Jones peacefully passed away February 27, 2023, after a long illness.

Barb’s spirit, her laughter and her love of fun will never be forgotten by those who knew her.  You didn’t just spend time with Barb; you made memories.  Barb was the life of the party, and her family would like to invite you to attend a Celebration of life 1 PM to 3 PM, April 8, 2023, at Southfork Restaurant 907 S. Washington Street, Bloomfield, IA 52537.  There will be a second Celebration of Life for Barb April 23, 2023, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Outdoor Education Center at 610 NE 36th Street, Ankeny, IA 50021.

Barb was born in Bloomfield, Iowa December 22, 1958, the daughter of Arvida and Francis Jones.  She graduated from Davis County High School in 1977 and went on to have a long career with the State of Iowa and DMACC.  She met many friends throughout the years that became family.

Barb was another parent to Amber Williams, April Friesner and Dustin Friesner, and she loved being a parent. Barb had recently become a friend of Bill and appreciated the love and support she received.

Barb is survived by her mom, Arvida Jones; her wife of 19 years, Yvette Whitt; her daughter Amber (Dave) Williams; granddaughters, Aliyah, Taryn, and Brieya; sisters, Kristie Bailey (Dean), Cindy Langford (Doug); brother, Greg Jones (Kay); and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews that she adored.

She is predeceased by her dad; April, Dustin and many other family and friends.
