Bonnie Klein, 59, of Ankeny, IA passed away on June 20, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with cancer.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church-Christian Life Center (710 NE 36th St.) with burial immediately following at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Bonnie was born on April 3, 1963 in LeMars, IA to Judy and David Hawkins. She was united in marriage to Steve Klein on October 8, 1983. She and Steve raised three beautiful daughters: Lynn, Brittany and Stacy. Bonnie and Steve loved traveling together and planning the next adventures for their grandsons.  Bonnie enjoyed teaching as a Kindergarten teacher for ten years in Minnesota and continued to substitute teach when they moved to Ankeny. She enjoyed working at Memory Bound Scrapbooking store and loved her time with her MB family. She loved being around her six grandsons as they were her pride and joy. From zoo trips to water slide days in the backyard and finding seashells on the beach, she cherished every moment she had with her little boys. Bonnie had a love for flower gardens, scrapbooking, creating magical Christmases, but most of all her family.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Klein; children, Lynn (Laramie) Sandquist and their boys, Parker and Carter, Brittany (Cory) Wiederin and their boys, Kellen and Beckett, and Stacy (Andrew) Roble and their boys Brayden and Kaden; mother, Judy Hawkins; siblings, Roma Lancaster, Tammy (Todd) Popken, and Curt (Jaime) Hawkins; in-laws, Diane Prieksat, Tim (Crystal) Klein, Carmie (Gary) Bosch, Dan (Karen) Klein, Ron (Heike) Klein, Tom (Mindy) Klein and Amy Schumacher; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her dad, David Hawkins; father-in-law, Merlyn Klein; mother-in-law, Jeanne Klein; step-mother-in-law, Jan Klein; paternal and maternal grandparents; sister-in-law, Julie Kounkel Johnson; brother-in-law, Todd Lancaster; niece, Sam Hawkins; and nephew, Ryan Klein.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to LifeServe Blood Center and John Stoddard Cancer Center.
