Brian Todd Muhlenburg was called up to the GREAT game on June 11, 2021 while residing at Polk City Nursing and Rehab.

A visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16th at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A Graveside service will immediately follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens at 4:00 pm. Those attending are encouraged to wear your favorite sports team shirt in honor of Brian’s love of sports.

He was born to Ronald and Virginia (Reimers) Muhlenburg on 4/12/1965 in Muscatine Iowa.  The family moved to Huxley in 1977 and Brian found his passion for sports, art and music.  Brian played Football and was the Basketball manager for the Ballard Bombers.

Brian started his working career at Bullock Builders in Des Moines. He then moved to IBP in Joslin Illinois, before moving back to the area and working at Carriage House in Ames.  Brian then went to work for Daryl’s tree service before taking his job at Dan Foss in Ames.

Brian was an avid sport fan of all sports, but the Cubs, Raiders, and the Blackhawks were at the top of his list for teams.  He was a music aficionado. He also loved to draw and paint.

Brian is survived by his father Ron Muhlenburg; sister Cindy (Lauren) Border from Ankeny; and brothers Bruce (Deb) Muhlenburg from Boone, Bob (Tracy) Muhlenburg from Ankeny and Barry (Valaree) Muhlenburg from Story City.  He had a host of nieces and nephews.

Brian is preceded in death by his mother Virginia Muhlenburg; sister Nancy Eaton, and brother Brett Muhlenburg.

Financial contributions can be made to the family to be donated later.  Please make checks payable to Tracy or Bob Muhlenburg
