Charles attended the Liscomb Church of Christ until he moved to Ankeny in 2010, where he became a member of the First Church of Christ in Ankeny.

Charlie enjoyed traveling to several states, too many to name, with friends and peers. He always enjoyed sharing good times with others, whether hosting Singles in Agriculture events, dancing, or cooking new recipes when he hosted friends and family over.

Charlies is survived by his children, Annette (Andy) Queck of Bryant, AR, Alan (Michelle) Vry of Runnells, IA, Andrew (Tawnya) Vry of Mingo, IA, and Rhonda Bills (Rich Dervin) of Altoona, IA; grandchildren, Travis (Amanda) Queck, Austin Queck, Kylie (Scott) Barnes, Tyler Vry, Kathryn Vry, Melany Vry, KJ Bills, and MacKenzie Bills; great-grandchildren, Bodhi Barnes, Ripley Barnes, Rowdy Barnes, and Laykin Quest; two brothers, John (Janet) Vry, and Ralph Vry; and a sister, Elaine Vry.
