Charlotte Marie Allen

Charlotte Marie Allen, 95, passed away Friday evening in Ankeny, Iowa.

A visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home.  Charlotte’s interment will be a family service in Florida where she will be reunited with her husband Everett Allen.

She was born April 28, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Hilda Willson. She met her husband Everett Allen in high school. Everett was drafted into World War II and Charlotte went on to the University of Detroit, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. When Everett returned from the war, they got married and lived in Detroit.

She worked for Ethel corporation and the Chrysler corporation in the chemical lab, where she worked on the development of the plastic dashboard. She then became a stay at home mom and did a lot of volunteering at the elementary school.

Charlotte and Everett moved to Florida in retirement and enjoyed traveling and being with family. When Charlotte became a grandmother, she moved to Iowa to be close to her family.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter Barbara (Jeff) Chlupach;  4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a very caring extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hilda Willson; her husband, Everett Allen, and brother Charles Willson.
