Clayton Van Horn, 74, passed away January 28, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.

Clayton was born March 4, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Norm and Fern Van Horn. He was employed as a salesman for various companies throughout his life and loved the challenge of closing business sales. He was a member of Sons of Amvets Squadron 2 and a charter member of Parks Community Lions Club.

Family was most important to Clayton and he loved time spent with his kids, grandkids, and great-granddaughter. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. His favorite sports teams were the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Green Bay Packers where he walked on to play earlier in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Garth (Susie) Van Horn, Sean (Karrie) Williams, Erica Williams, and Cassandra (Mike Stephens) Van Horn; grandchildren, Gabbi Niswander, Zoe Niswander, Dakota (Zach Thiessen) Williams, Montana Williams, Ryan Henkle, Hayden Henkle, Bailey Stephens, AJ Stephens; great-granddaughter, Ruthie Thiessen; son-in-law, Mark Littlejohn; brother, Joel (Tarey) Van Horn; sister, Rhonda Van Horn Clark; sister-in-law, Dee Van Horn; and previous wife, Cheryl Van Horn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norm and Fern Van Horn; brother, Mike; and daughter, Heather Littlejohn.
