Dennie Lee Brazelton, 82, of Ankeny, passed away May 29th, 2022, at his home surrounded by

family. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Memorial Services of Iowa Funeral Home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd.) Funeral Service will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 2 also at the funeral home.

Dennis was born November 12, 1939, to Perry and Wilma (Albaugh) Brazelton in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated Ankeny High School in 1958, he went on to study at Central College in Pella.

He worked at John Deere Des Moines Works for over 40 years and held the dual responsibility of running the family farm.

In 1958, Dennis met Pat Jensen at Ankeny High School. Dennis and Pat married in 1960 and were married for 62 years. They went on to have three children; Todd, Deb (Gaulke), and Gary.

In 1999 Dennis retired from John Deere and continued farming until his passing.

He enjoyed; farming, sports, and most of all family; holidays, special get togethers, and events, with Pat and his family of 3 children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and their spouses, and 10 great grandchildren. He was passionate about family, his booming enthusiasm created unique and authentic relationships with each and every child, grandchild and great grandchild. Conversations around his accomplishments, he always mentioned that his proudest accomplishment was family which was returned as everyone returned home to spend time with him before his passing. Second to family was farming, he worked with his father on the family farm till his passing. He will be forever remembered for his constant smile, relentless selflessness, and acceptance of everyone.

Dennis was predeceased by; his father and mother Perry and Wilma, brother Herbert, and sister-in-law Jean (Hoaas). He is survived by; wife Pat, children Todd and (Karla) Brazelton, Deb and (Ben) Gaulke, and Gary and (Jen) Brazelton. Grandchildren; Dave Brazelton, Kristin (Josh) Savage, Nathan and Rachelle Gaulke, Lauren and (Bryce) Schweitzer, Logan and (Kindra) Gaulke, Gloria and (Adam) Krueger, Jacob and (Candace) Brazelton, Tanner Dake, Keely Dake, Zoey Brazelton, and Levi Brazelton. Great grandchildren; Trenton, Camden, Maddox, and Blake Savage. Mackenzie, Jason, and Brooklyn Gaulke. Nolan and Lydia Gaulke. Barrett Schweitzer. Brothers Dan Brazelton, Jim and (Elaine) Brazelton, and sister Elaine and (Bob) Costello.
