Dortha “Darlene” (Underwood) Nash, 90, passed away March 10, 2021 at Accura Healthcare in Ames, IA. She was born March 15, 1930 in Unionville, IA, to Claude and Ruby (Ridlen) Underwood.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. Darlene was a very caring woman, always taking care of others and putting them first. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. She could make the best out of any situation with her sense of humor. Family meals were her favorite to cook, and if you ask anyone, her potato salad and deviled eggs were legendary. She enjoyed tending her rose garden, listening to church music, and spending hours researching genealogy.

Darlene was a 50-year member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church and a member of the Altar Guild for many of those years.

Darlene is survived by her son, John Nash; grandchildren, Ben Nash, Chris Nash, Olivia Nash, and Ethan Nash; brother, Robert Underwood; and sister, Shirley Tietsort. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Dan Nash; and her parents.
