Edna Anna (Blum) Riewer, 87, died peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m. prior to visitation. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. following visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E. 1st St.) with burial immediately following at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. Mass will be livestreamed at the following link: www.olih.org

Edna was born September 6, 1935, in the town of Howard, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Eleanor (Bowe) Blum.

She married Everett Riewer on May 11, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Edna loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, puzzles, gardening and playing bridge. Her children admired her wit and her gift for making friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Bruce) Meyer; two sons, Mark and David (Shawna); four grandchildren, Jason (Karla) Lint, Jessica (Chris) Frederickson, Braelyn Heikens, and Crosby Riewer; two step-granddaughters, Wendy (Mark) Baker, and Teri (Nate) Vaziri; three sisters, Marie Etlicher, Jeanette Thompson, and Betty (Joseph) Hessel; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her son, John; her parents; four brothers, Vernon, Robert, Arnold and Daniel; and sister, Lucy Hughes.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in memory of Edna.
