My heartfelt sympathies to Liz's family. I knew Liz from the DOT especially when she was CHAIR of SAVINGS BONDS campaign; actually co-chair but did ALL THE WORK. She had no volunteers to help her so she took the 3,000+ home working on them in the evenings!! She told me this when I became co-chair of savings bonds which I really was the chair since the chair never did any work or at meetings! He recruited her and did the same thing to her. Liz was a very beautiful secretary with a heart of gold with the HUGE SMILE she shared with everyone. She was a job to be around. I enjoyed reading about all the volunteerism and continuing her education on all platforms I was unaware of. May God comfort you all now and in the days, months, and years ahead.

Liz was our secretary at the Iowa Dept. of Transportation for a few years. She had a tough job in Facilities Support answering all the daily phone calls from people complaining they were too hot, too cold, blew a breaker with their microwave, saw a dead bird outside their window, saw a ground squirrel unable to swim out of the pond, and many more. When someone burned their popcorn forcing everyone to evacuate for fear of a fire, Liz then had to call the fire department of a false alarm. She could do all this plus bookwork. She generally had a smile on her face despite these complaining phone calls. Her smile would brighten ones day. Her cheerful greeting on the phone made our jobs easier. She was a beautiful, caring, & dedicated lady. Sorry for your loss.
