Eric John Marvel

January 19, 1973 - April 14, 2016

Eric John Marvel went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2016, a senseless casualty of a glioblastoma multiforme. Eric was born in Peoria, IL on January 19, 1973. He moved to Ankeny with his family in 1986 where he has resided ever since. He graduated from Ankeny High School in 1991 and then entered the Diesel Mechanic Program at DMACC. He pursued his passion for trucks and trucking in different jobs over the years and eventually became the founder and owner of Marvel Trucking, LLC based in Ankeny. Eric loved anything with a motor and was particularly fond of anything reckless and fast. His passion was boating. He was a devoted father and dedicated son.
Eric is preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Willander; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Eric is survived by his mother, Marsha Willander; father, Robert; son, Austin; and daughter, Lacey as well as countless friends whom he loved as family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A Memorial Fund will be set up for his children; they may be sent to his Mother, Marsha.
