Evelyn L. (Carr) Lilly passed away on January 20, 2018. At 92 years old, Mom decided that it was time to go home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Memorial Services of Iowa Funeral Home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
Evelyn was born in Gowrie, Iowa on June 24, 1925 to Ernest and Florence (Stanek) Carr. She married Dave Lilly on her high school graduation day, May 10, 1944. They lived in Jefferson, Gowrie and Rockwell City, Iowa before moving to Story City, Iowa in 1959. She moved to Ankeny, Iowa in 2000. She lived at the Mill Pond Care Center the last several years of her life
Evelyn is survived by her son Don (Carol) Lilly, grandchildren Jennifer (Dave) Murray and Scott (Kari) Lilly all of Ankeny, grandson Greg Wagner of Taipei, Taiwan, granddaughter Maria Wagner, sisters Lois Lindquist of Jefferson, Oregon; Pauline Farmer of St. Louis, Missouri; Ivis (Lou) Stevens of Tucson, Arizona, Inez Carlson of Ames, Iowa and sister-in-law Mary Ann Lilly of Mesa, Arizona along with five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, her daughter and son-in-law Karen and Bill Wagner, her brothers, Ernest and Claude Carr, a sister Joyce Tonderum and her grandson David Wagner.
