Frederick Scherle IV

January 15, 1973 - November 18, 2020

On Wednesday November 18th, 2020, Freddie Scherle, loving father, son, and brother passed away at the age of 47.

Freddie was born on January 15th, 1973 in Minneapolis. He attended Ankeny High School, the Air Force Academy, and Graduated from Iowa State University. He was a standout athlete from a young age and went on to a successful career in commercial banking. He raised three children, Gabby (23), Nick (19), and Emily (13).

Freddie had a big passion for sports that he passed onto his children. He enjoyed countless weekends watching them compete and always had his video camera out to capture the moments on the field. His loved ones will miss his shameless Dad humor, love for Star Wars, and random knowledge of fun facts. He was that Dad always saying “Hey Google” into his phone with an oversized grin. He is loved and missed by all.

Fred is survived by his children, Gabby Scherle, Nick Scherle, and Emily Scherle; parents, Fred Scherle III and Nancy Scherle; sister, Nicole (Scott) Scheidel; niece and nephew, Frankie and Henry; Jenny Scherle; step-son, Dylan; Dorian; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Rev. Fred Scherle; and grandmother, Edna Scherle.

We will be holding a short service followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM CT on Monday, November 23rd at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny: 520 NW 36th St, Ankeny, IA 50023.
