Garry Eugene Meyer, 72, of Des Moines passed away May 31, 2016.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Ankeny Memorial Chapel (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd).
Garry was born June 24, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida.
He served with the US Navy for 4 years, and then with the US Coast Guard until his retirement.
Garry is survived by his mother, Orvilla Meyer; brothers, Dennis and Gregory Meyer, a sister Kimberly Moulin; 6 nephews, Nathan Meyer, Nicholas Meyer, Erik Meyer, Mike Scherer, Jake Scherer, Alec Meyer and 2 nieces, Mariah Meyer and Sarah Glann.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Meyer.
