Gene Bishop

September 18, 1934 - July 13, 2021

Gene Bishop, 86, passed away peacefully July 13, 2021 after a 25 year dance with cancer. He was a kind, loving, and generous man who loved people and animals.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Joan. He leaves behind five children, Rachel (Steve) Johnson, Robert (Sigrid) Bishop, Mark (Angie) Bishop, Jamie (Brenda) Bishop, and Rebecca (Jeff) Nickel; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Gene retired from Iowa State University after working as an electrical designer. Per his wishes, he was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please consider donations to St. Croix Hospice in Ankeny, IA, or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
