I worked at CS B during the time George was there. He was such a nice man that made you feel welcome to ask questions and to just be around. Always smiling and just a wonderful person. His sons said it all at the service. Amazing tribute to an amazing man.

I always loved hearing Uncle George's stories about my dad, his shoulders shaking and his laugh booming as he told stories that could only have happened to Shidlers! Especially the ones where George apparently just managed to keep my dad alive! And of course, there is the story about how Uncle George helped my dad during the Vietnam War. He actually did probably keep my dad alive. George was love, fun, kindness, and the kind of big guy who you know can always make things okay. It's such a cliche to say he will live on in our hearts, but he truly, truly will, always with a chuckle and the memory of a darn good story. All my love to you, Rachel, and to David and Brad. Uncle George was one of the most decent human beings I've ever had the privilege of knowing. All my memories of him are the best one could imagine--especially our trips to Canada fishing along with Brad, Dave, my dad (his brother Sam), and all the friends who joined us. I can still hear him jovially saying, "Matt, you're full of prune-juice!" whenever I was being a goofy kid. All my best thoughts and wishes are with Rachel, Dave, Brad, and the rest of their families. George led a wonderful life, and he will truly be missed by all who knew him. All my love, Matt
