Gerine, was like a second mom to me. We worked together at Salvation Army. Gerine knew I was tired of living in an apt, when her house came up for rent, Gerine asked if we would like to rent. I told her yes, we spent the next 20yrs. there. Gerine and I lost touch when I moved out of town, but I thought of her often, never forgot everthing she and Orville did for my family. I just found out about Gerine passing away, sad I didnt go to her service. She was a woderful person, and Gerine if youre looking down I want you to know you ,were an awesome person, im sorry if I didnt tell you so. I'LL be lookink for you, mom, dad, Orville Janet when my time comes!

Some of my fondest memories include Gerine. She treated my like one of her own children and I loved her. A kinder more loving woman you'll never meet. The world has truly lost something very special. RIP Gerine, you will be in my heart forever.

I remember her as being a sweet godly woman. A real trooper when it came to raising all the boys. Never heard her raise her voice. Rest in peace Gerine!

I will remember Gerine as a great companion to Grandpa and a great maker of dolls. I always enjoyed our talks at family gatherings. Although I was not able to see her in recent years, I still kept her in my thoughts. If I could still drive I would definitely attend her service in Boone, but I am unable to personally attend and express my condolences.

I LOVED my Aunt Gerine! I admired her for her Godliness; I believe she was a Proverbs 31 Woman! Hard shoes to fill, Biblically! She did it with Grace! She Served the Lord very Diligently and helped ANYONE that came into her path! My Mother Marilyn and Gerine were not only Sistesr-In-Law, but Best Friends, too and I spent alot of time around my Aunt when I was a young Child! I always felt very comfortable around her; she was a "Self-LESS" Woman, who Evangelized to the Homeless and the" less fortunate " and was well known for her Giving Heart! And IN that Giving, came her Wonderful conversations with People about Christ! Always "Planting that Seed!" Thank You for Sharing your Life with me, Aunt Gerine and I will be excited to see you in Heaven!

My mother and Gerine were friends. My mother loved dolls. She loved to restore them and she didn't like that they didn't have clothes on. When Gerine worked at the Salvation Army store in Boone my mother would go there to buy dolls and fix them up and take them back. All of them had new clothes and their faces were clean and their hair was combed or they had new wigs. Sometimes Gerine would find an "odd" doll and save it for my mother because she loved the odd ones. They never came back. Your mother was a delightful woman and a blessing to my mother. I am happy for her peaceful transition to her forever home. My mother went home in January. Maybe they will discuss dolls. God bless your family.

Aunt Gerine we so many important things to me growing up. Spiritual advisor, encourager, loving, caring, and someone I could talk with openly. She will always be in my heart. Peace be with you sweet Aunt. You are home.
