Ginna S. Blackford

August 27, 1954 - September 28, 2023

Ginna Sue (Duffy) Blackford left us on September 28, 2023, after her 5-year battle with colon cancer. Ginna was the Matriarch of her family. She will be missed dearly by many friends, family and neighbors.

Ginna loved working in her yard, and she ran a tight ship in her home. She also loved to learn new things and then would share those things with her loved ones. She always said, “Knowledge was Power”.

Ginna is survived by her son, James Allen Burk; daughter, Carrie Angeles; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Kristy) Duffy of Windsor, CO; sisters, Martha (Bill) Miller of Pleasant Hill, IA, and Nancy (Charlie) Parks of Austin, TX; as well as her former husband and 19-year companion, James Blackford of Des Moines, IA.

Ginna was one of the purest souls you would ever meet. The family believes she has ascended to the Heavens above to be an angel as did the ones she greatly loved!
