Ingrid Ann Jensen

Ingrid Ann Jensen, 94, of Des Moines, IA passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2017.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 3 at Central Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, also at the church.
Ingrid was born to Alex and Senja Korpela on April 3, 1923, the youngest of 8 children. Ingrid graduated from Lincoln High School in Hurley, Wisconsin in 1940 and attended Business College before taking a variety of jobs, including many years as a bank teller. Ingrid married Gerald Jensen in 1961. Ingrid had a passion for helping others being a life-long member of TTT and volunteering 26 years at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, FL.
Ingrid is survived by her husband Gerald Jensen; son Thomas (Kim) Jensen of Ankeny; step-son Jeffrey (Joey) Jensen of Castaic, CA, and step-daughter Tammie (Robert) Jensen Geddes of La Quinta, CA; 4 grandchildren, Robin (Greg) Ahonen Gordon of Knightdale, NC, Kimberly Ahonen Garner of Asheboro, NC, Ashley Jensen of Minneapolis, MN, and Stefanie Jensen of Ankeny; 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her son Robert Ahonen, and step-son Terry Jensen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the TTT or Suncrest Hospice.
We would like to say a special thank you to Vintage Hills and Suncrest Hospice. Their staff was amazing and we were so fortunate to have their excellent treatment and care for Ingrid and our family.
