Jack Joalan Price, 67, passed away peacefully at his home on May 26, 2021.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Valley Church (4343 Fuller Rd., West Des Moines). A Celebration of Life will take place at 3:00 p.m. with refreshments following on Thursday, June 3, 2021, also at the church.
He was born February 6, 1954, to Jack and Judith (Letts) Price in Mason City, IA. He later moved to Ankeny where he graduated high school. He started working at Hy-Vee and continued working there for 34 years.
Jack loved giving to his community by volunteering at Blank Children’s Hospital and many other children’s charities. He was very active in the Variety Club Children’s Charity for many years. His faith and his family were very important to him, and he loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s many activities. Jack was known as Dad, Grandpa, and also Santa Claus. He loved dressing up each Christmas to bring so much joy to local children.
Jack is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda; siblings, Don (Jill) Price and Diane (Rob) Hammer; children, Michelle (Tom) McDaniel, Joe (Amy) Price, and Ryan (Louise) Price; and his ten grandchildren who he adored, Jaden McDaniel, Hunter Price, Kennedy McDaniel, Bailey Price, Norah Price, Jocelyn Price, Keegan Price, Boden Price, Makenzie Price, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the family for donation at a later date to a charity in Jack’s name.
