James (Jim) Corrigan, formerly of Naperville IL, passed into the presence of the Lord on June 1st, 2018 at his home in Ankeny, IA with his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy, at his side. Jim is also survived by his three children, Jim (Karen), Maggie (Rich) Todd, Bryan (Anne); 7 grandchildren, Bobbi (Kris) Van Houten, Sean (Kristina) Corrigan, Tom Corrigan, Sara (Daniel) Robbins, Shaina Todd, Colin Corrigan, Devin Corrigan; 7 great-grandchildren, Riley, Logan, Taylin, Emersyn, Brinley, Lochlan, Piersyn; 2 sisters, Jean (Mike) Hayes, Deanne Norton and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Barbara Corrigan of Durango, Colorado.

Jim was born in Pagosa Springs, CO., where he was an avid skier, climber, and football player. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. Jim was a metal cold-forming and fastener salesman in Washington, Colorado, Missouri, California, and Illinois until he became disabled in 1989. He devoted the rest of his life to enjoying his ever-growing family.

Jim never met a stranger. If you ever met him he probably offered you a Bible. His greatest desire in life was for everyone to know the peace and hope they could have in his Savior, Jesus Christ. He even used his many hospitalizations to share his love of Christ with everyone who walked into his room.

A private interment will be held at the Iowa Veterans’ Cemetery in Adel, IA. A celebration of his life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist, 3S465 Briggs Ave., Naperville IL 60563 on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive visitors at the church prior 30 minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or to Gideon’s International (www.gideons.org)
