James “Jim” Frost, 58, of Ankeny, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Jim was born on September 26, 1965, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Marlyn Frost and Carolyn Frost. He graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in May 1984.
He met his high school sweetheart, Becky Anderson, while working at Dahl’s Foods and they were married on July 19, 1986, and then blessed with two children, Jenny and Brian.
He worked as a route driver for Pepsi Cola & Anderson Erickson. Jim concluded his career after 32 years with Perishable Distributors of Iowa (PDI). Throughout his time at PDI, Jim worked overnight as a transportation generalist and finally retired from PDI as a route driver serving multiple states throughout the Midwest.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. Throughout the year, you could find Jim spending time with friends, family, and his hunting companion (Abby) in the field chasing pheasant, waterfowl, deer, & turkey. Additionally, Jim enjoyed spending time riding his motorcycle exploring many different states throughout the U.S. Jim had a love for the open road. He also loved tinkering in the garage with buddies, donating his time to help others, and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
Jim was a hard worker, provider, role model, and great friend.
Jim is survived by his wife, Becky; his daughter, Jenny (Jake) Keese; his son, Brian (Krista) Frost; his four granddaughters, Anniston, Adley, Ainsley & Quinn; his mother, Carolyn Frost; his father, Marlyn Frost; his two sisters, Marlene (Brian) Speedling and Tawnya (Andy) Vry; his parents-in-law, Larry and Grace Anderson; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Elaine (Mitch) Johannsen, Jim (Byron) Anderson, Deb Kidman; as well as many other loving family and friends.
