Janet Foster

Janet Marie Foster, 69, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away at her home on Monday, November 13, 2023.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd) from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Janet was born on December 4, 1953, in Riceville, Iowa, to Raymond and Ruby Stevenson. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1972.

Janet married John Foster on August 16, 1976. They enjoyed hunting together in Minnesota when they were younger.

Janet loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always eager to help with the annual Stevenson Family Reunion and anticipated traveling to Connecticut each year to watch her granddaughter in The Nutcracker Ballet with the Danbury Music Centre. She enjoyed playing card games and board games. Janet was also an avid reader, self-taught crafter, and talented artist.

Overall, Janet enjoyed life and everyone around her, and she cherished her work family at Mom’s Meals.

Janet is survived by her husband, John Foster; daughter, Mary Foster; honorary daughter, Amber Bugge; honorary son, Kevin Bugge; honorary granddaughters, Kaitlynn Bugge, Madyson Bugge, and Olivia Bugge; honorary great-grandson, Zyair Lee; brother, Harry Stevenson; sister, Kathy (Robert) Harkrader; brother-in-law, Raymond Foster; sister-in-law, Phyllis Stevenson; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruby Stevenson; brothers, Bernie Stevenson and Thomas Stevenson; sisters-in-law, Toni Stevenson and Janice Kelly; brother-in-law, Frank Foster; and her nephew, David Kelly.

Memorial contributions will be received by the family.
