Jerald Jensen

May 21, 1947 - February 2, 2023

Jerald V. Jensen (Jerry) passed away February 2, 2023, in Bonita Springs, Florida.  Jerry was born May 21, 1947, in Hamlin, Iowa to Vern and Beulah Jensen.  He graduated from Audubon High School.  After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Jerry obtained his CPA certification. He started his career at Coopers Lybrand as staff accountant/auditor. He was the CFO of Jacobson Warehouse Co., President of Midland Mortgage, stockbroker with Piper Jaffray and finished his career with US Bank.

Jerry enjoyed golfing, reading, sportscars, boating and being outdoors. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Janet, daughters Gretchen Jensen (Brian Hulten), Abby Jensen (Andy Branch) and stepdaughter Ashley Rathjen (Kirk); six wonderful grandchildren who brought him great joy: Jack and Gwen Hulten, Cole, Caleb, and Calvin Rathjen, and Isla Branch; as well as his sister, Vernice (Howard) Madsen. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Beulah Jensen, his daughter Rachel, and Janet’s son Colby.

A memorial service to honor Jerry will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.  Visitation at 10:00 AM service at 11:00. The service will be live streamed at Jerry Jensen Memorial (boxcast.tv).
