Jordan was born in Des Moines, IA on August 13, 1998, to David Shelledy and Kelly Drake. At 4 months old, he received his first heart transplant in Iowa City. This began a lifelong battle with heart complications. In 2021, Jordan met his fiancé Mahliah. Soon after, Jordan received a second heart transplant along with a kidney. Jordan viewed this opportunity as a brand new lease on life. He looked forward to watching his nephew Judson grow up and beginning his own family with his fiancé Mahliah Ingersoll. He couldn’t wait to share all these precious moments with his mama Kelly, and his best friend & brother Josh.

Even with all the medical hurdles, Jordan lived his life to the fullest. He spent most of his life in Ankeny, Iowa, where he graduated in 2017 from Ankeny High School. He most recently lived in Iowa City where he happily cheered on his beloved Hawkeyes. Jordan loved to play poker, spend time with his friends, and sweat out an overly large multi-leg parlay bet. He also loved to travel, attend concerts & sporting events, and laugh at a good comedian. One of his favorite things to do was to antagonize his mom with Josh. Jordan loved to be the funniest person in the room, oftentimes surprising us with his dark humor. A true sports fanatic, you could find Jordan cheering on the Texas Longhorns, the Cubs, at times the Chiefs, and most recently the Bills. He was so proud to say he now owned a Bills jersey in every color. He adored his friends and family so incredibly much. Jordan was particularly proud to be Judson’s uncle. Time with family was amongst his most treasured moments.

Jordan is survived by his mother, Kelly Drake and stepfather Joe Jones; his brother, Josh (Tori) Shelledy; his nephew, Judson Shelledy; and his, fiancé, Mahliah Ingersoll. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Randy (Michelle) Drake, Bob (Mickey) Drake, Tim Corsaut, Pam (Roger) Williams, Sheri (Steve) Lawrence, Vori Dhabolt, and Don Dhabolt; step grandfather, Robert Jones; future in-laws, Tara (Matt) Nielsen and Joe (Amy) Ingersoll; numerous cousins, best friends, and other family. He was preceded in death by his father, David; sister, Katelyn; grandparents, George & Joy Drake, Gene & Claudine Allison, and Arlene Jones; aunt, Raynette Corsaut, and his uncle Denny Dhabolt.

Jordan was able to provide the gift of life through organ donation and it was his wish that everyone be a donor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. Both organizations were immensely helpful throughout Jordan’s life.
