Julie Ann Dvorak, age 61, of Bondurant, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 28, 2023, after a fight with cancer.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with funeral services on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. All services will be at the Federated Church of Bondurant (103 2nd St. SW).
Julie was born July 10, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Jack and Donna Larson. Julie loved being a mother and caring for children. In 1977, Julie met Robert Dvorak, and the two were married in May 1982. They went on to have four children in their 40 years of marriage. She provided in-home daycare for many years, looking after countless children, before working at Ankeny Community School District, where she was able to share her love of reading with the students, always reading the same books as them so they could talk about them. She was a devoted grandmother and continued to bring joy and love to her family.
Julie loved traveling with her husband and many family friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and was always up for a fishing trip in Canada. She had annual vacations at the Lake of the Ozarks with friends and family. Julie and Bob spent over 15 years camping out at the Iowa State Fair.
Julie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Margaret; paternal grandparents Earl and Lettie; father-in-law, Vern; mother-in-law, Patricia; and sister, Susan. She is survived by her husband, Robert; parents, Jack and Donna; brother, John (Kristina); children, Christapher (Sarah), William (Tiffany), Adam (Danika), and Lori; as well as her grandchildren, Kenzie, Vincent, Theodore, Alexander, Nora, Eliza, Arlo, and Everlee; nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family for a memorial at the Iowa State Fair.
