Karen Wilson, 82, passed away on November 10, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Karen Louise Eberhardt was born to Harry “Dutch” Eberhardt and Nadine Charles on July 11, 1941. She married Donald Wilson on January 15, 1960, and from that union they had two daughters. Karen worked at Ohio Casualty ins, Equitable Life, State Auto, then Massey Ferguson in 1966. When Massey closed in 1993, she joined the finance company of Massey – Agri Credit Acceptance Co. She retired from AAC in 2002 after 36 years between Massey and AAC.

Don and Karen moved from Des Moines to Cambridge in 1972 where Karen became very involved in the Methodist Church and in 1989, she became the church secretary off and on for the next 20 years. She served on many committees in her local church as well as district and conference committees.  In 2019 she sold her home of 47 years and moved to an apartment in Ankeny.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Shawn) Jensen and Tracy (Bob) Muhlenburg; three grandchildren, Cassie (Dale) Musser, Whitney Muhlenburg and Jesse Muhlenburg; one step granddaughter, Autumn Jensen; along with three great-grandchildren, Tyreese Muhlenburg, Kwinten Muhlenburg and Ethan Muhlenburg; and stepbrother Garry Empey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nadine Eberhardt; husband, Don Wilson; brother, James Eberhardt; two stepfathers, Bill Elsberry and Ivan Empey; and stepbrother, Terry Empey.
