Keith Alan Woodward, 68, of Ankeny, passed away unexpectedly at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 12, 2023.

Keith was born July 11, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana, to Lee and Edna (Bradley) Woodward. Keith was a 1972 graduate from Reitz High School in Evansville. He was also a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. During his college years, Keith served as a youth pastor in Dallas Center and experienced an incredible trip to Israel. Keith began his career of 35 years with John Deere in 1974. In time, Keith operated most of the machinery and spent his last years there as a Layout Inspector. He retired in the summer of 2009. He was a member of the UAW Union. During a long layoff period in the 80’s, he drove semi-trucks across the country for Ace Van Lines. Keith married Margie Joy on September 24, 1993.  He has been a resident of Ankeny since 1994.

As a young man, Keith enjoyed long distance running, basketball and had a special interest in learning the German language. With a fervent spirit for traveling on adventures and the great outdoors, Keith found passions for motorcycling, boating, bicycling and even learned to pilot small planes. He was also a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He especially enjoyed frequent trips to visit family and friends in Indiana.

Keith will be remembered for his unique brand of humor, keen mind, fun loving spirit, great sense of adventure and devotion to his family.

Keith is survived by his wife, Margie; his daughter, Rachel; two sisters, Diane Dodson and Sandy Hall of Evansville; sister-in-law, Patty (Wayne) Price of Des Moines; his uncle, Bob (Dixie) Bradley of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his five nephews, James (Holly) Dodson, Paul (Andrea) Dodson, Kim (Vicky) Hall of Evansville, and Tanner Price of Desoto, Iowa; his niece, Elizabeth (Bill) Centifanto of Evansville; 14 great nephews and great nieces of Evansville, and his faithful dog, Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Woodward; his mother-in-law, Nancy Joy; his brother, Greg Woodward; his nephew, Kevin Hall; his cousin, Kathy Singleton Luigs, and numerous aunts and uncles.
