Kenneth Owen Dory, 80, of Cambridge died February 7, 2017 at Bethany Life in Story City.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held 5 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10th, also at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born June 21, 1936 in Adair, Iowa to Glen and Jessie Dory. They later moved to the Cambridge area.
He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954, and joined the Navy. When he returned from the service he farmed and worked at Roberts Dairy in Des Moines until his retirement in 1998.
He enjoyed traveling to several countries, Caribbean cruises, and working in the home rental business.
Kenneth attended the Methodist church in Ames until his illness prevented him from going.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; children, Kent Dory of Cambridge, Dean Dory of Augusta, Georgia, Lisa (Mike) Cone of Baraboo, WI, and Justin (Amber) McClure of Powell, WY; 4 grandchildren, Paul (Sarah) Dory, Julie (Greg) Chipp, Ben Hutchinson, and Kyle McClure; 5 great-grandchildren, Brady, Derek and Garrett Chipp, Delaney and Dawson Dory; a brother Marshall from Manhattan, KS, and a sister Joyce Richardson from Westminster, CO, and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Life in Story City.
