Kimberly Rae Pfaltzgraff, 64, of Ankeny gained her angel wings on December 16, 2022 after a 12-year courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded with love and peace by her family as she was welcomed into the gates of Heaven.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny (520 NW 36th Street). A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, also at the church.

Kim was born on December 30, 1957 in Osage, Iowa to Rollin and Helen Tubbs. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Dean Pfaltzgraff, and celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this past June. Throughout the years, Kim worked as an administrative assistant and retired from Snyder & Associates after more than 20 years.

Kim enjoyed spending time cooking and baking in her kitchen. She was known for her cookie platters at Christmas time and found joy in making home cooked meals for her family. Her love of cooking is something she has passed down to her daughters and her recipes will be enjoyed for generations to come. Kim had various hobbies including scrapbooking and cross stitching.

Kim’s greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends. Over the years, her fondest memories were boating on the lake, taking motorcycle trips, going for rides in the Camaro, and attending ISU football games. Fighting a 12-year cancer battle was hard, but Kim always knew how important every day was and felt blessed to be a part of her grandkids’ lives. She loved watching them play sports and was always their biggest fan.

Kim is survived by her husband, Dean Pfaltzgraff of Ankeny; daughters, Jessica (Matt) Schreurs of Washington Illinois, and Jenna (Justin) Boswell of Ankeny; grandchildren, Gavin, Brady, Grayson, and Brooklyn; mother, Helen Tubbs of Osage; brothers, Kevin (Beth) Tubbs of Des Moines, and Craig Tubbs of Rochester, Minnesota; in-laws, Denny (Cathy) Pfaltzgraff of Killeen, Texas, Doug (Laveta) Pfaltzgraff of Bondurant, and Dave Pfaltzgraff of Elkhorn, Nebraska; and many other loving family members. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Rollin Tubbs of Osage; and son, Jacob Dean.

Kim was privileged to be a member of the Patient Advisory Committee for the MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center and was passionate about helping others through their cancer journey. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to: MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center, 411 Laurel Street Suite 3300. Des Moines, Iowa 50314.
