Kristina (Kristi) Marie Masters died in a car accident on Tuesday January 19, 2016. She was born in Fargo, North Dakota on December 12, 1979 to Jill and Mark Bale. Her family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1990. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Matthew Masters in Lincoln on July 27, 2002 and they had two beautiful sons; Zachary (7) and Tyler (3). After graduating from Lincoln East High School in 1998 she went on for her bachelor’s degree from Doane College and her Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska.
She and Matt moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 2003 where she began her career as a chemist with Barton Solvents. She lived a happy life, was full of love for her family and stayed in touch with many of her friends. She had a wonderful laugh and smile and no one made her smile more than Matt, Zach and Ty. She loved reading; playing games and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers (Go Big Red!). In her mind her greatest achievement was her children.
She is survived by her husband Matthew and two sons; Zachary and Tyler (Ankeny, IA); her parents Mark and Jill Bale (Clear Lake, IA), her sister Kathryn (Blake) Ketterl (West Des Moines, IA), Mother-in-law and father-in-law Kathy and Steve Masters (Lincoln, NE), brother-in-law Clay (Tamara) Masters (Des Moines, IA); grandparents Lee and Darlene Groff (Morris, MN), Harold and Beverly Bale (Grand Forks, ND), Robert Davisson (Cedar Rapids, IA), niece and nephews Justin and Brandon Ketterl; Madeline and Robert Masters; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 517 SW Des Moines St. in Ankeny, Iowa on Thursday January 28 2016 at 11:30. Visitation with family prior to service 9-11AM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to the family for the care and education of their children.
