Lynn C. Pitts, 68, of Ankeny passed away June 28, 2018.
Lynn worked passionately for the city of Ankeny for over 30 years and was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Ankeny as well for 30 years.
Lynn is survived by his wife; Sonji, his Mother Therese; 3 sons, Shawn, Adam (Sarah), and Tim; 4 brothers Robert, Larry, Joe, and Jeff; Grandchildren, Madison, Parker, Amanda, Carter, William, Elle, Reagan, and great grandson Terance.
He is preceded in death by his father Le Roy; sister Cheryl Ann; brother Roger; niece Niccole; daughter Kimberly Lynn, and nephew Nicolas.
Lynn was very active within the Ankeny community and was passionate about his family. Some the activities that Lynn contributed to were Ankeny Junior Football, Ankeny Little League, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and he was instrumental in starting youth wrestling in Ankeny. Lynn’s passion for the city of Ankeny did not stop there, as he was involved in many charitable causes that benefit the community to this day.
Some of Lynn’s accomplishments over his life were 1968 State Runner Up in wrestling. He was 1988 Ankeny Citizen of the Year; Lynn lead the charge on the restoration of the Ankeny Fire Department’s Old 400 fire truck that sits in the front of Firehouse One. Lynn cherished his time volunteering as a firefighter where he made many lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
