Mae Deane was born February 14, 1926 in New Virginia, Iowa to Thomas and Murl Blair. Her family moved to the Ankeny area in 1938. Mae Deane graduated from Ankeny High School in 1943 where she played on the first Iowa Girls State Tournament Basketball Team representing Ankeny.

She married John Marvin Frisk on March 11, 1946. Together they raised two sons Rick and Dennis in Ankeny, IA. She went to work at John Deere Des Moines Works in 1959 and retired in 1982. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and Granny to all. She was passionate and devoted to her family. She never met a stranger and always remembered peoples names and stories.  She had a wonderful sense of humor. Mae Deane always made you feel as if she had been waiting all day to see you and now that day was completed. In this life, she provided an abundance of unconditional love, patience, life lessons, and most importantly, the leftover brownie batter, to those she cherished. She was an avid supporter of the Ankeny Fire Department, Ankeny Athletics, and North Polk Athletics. She was always in the stands cheering for her family and friends. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman, IA and the Albaugh-McGovern American Legion Post #42 Auxiliary in Ankeny.

She enjoyed traveling and fishing with her family and friends. She was an unbelievable cook and loved to share her food talents with everyone. Some of her other hobbies included: sewing, crocheting, needle point, making porcelain dolls, gardening, polka music, and helping others.

Survivors include her children: Rick (Kathy) Frisk and Dennis (Jackie) Frisk. Six Grandchildren: Tara (Shane) Antle, Tory (Shannon) Frisk, John Frisk (Jeff), Sundae (Bobby) Anderson, Shane (Michelle) Frisk, Shauna (Ted) Jansen.  Great Grandchildren: Zachary (Emily) Antle, Kendall (Haley) Antle, Matthew Antle, Anna Frisk, Evan Frisk, Owen Frisk, Spencer Anderson, Trever Anderson, Jace Anderson, Luke Frisk, Jacob Frisk, Tanner Jansen, Austin Jansen. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Marvin Frisk, and her siblings: Betty Hutton, James Blair, Ronald Blair, and Roger Blair.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Church of Christ, Ankeny Fire Department, or Albaugh-McGovern American Legion Post #42.
