Marvin Bigbee

January 26, 1936 - February 6, 2023

Marvin Bigbee, age 87, passed peacefully with his family by his side on February 6, 2023.

A visitation will be held 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd).  A Memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church (206 S.W. Walnut St.). Marvin was born January 26, 1936, in Marengo, Iowa and grew up on a farm near there.  He was educated in a one room schoolhouse, and graduated from Marengo high school where he met and dated his future wife Carol Peters.  He graduated from Iowa State College in 1958, got married and started a 36-year career at the Des Moines John Deere factory the same year.

Marvin was a faithful husband, good father, and a hard worker.

He is survived by two sons and their spouses, Kurt and Kama, and Kevin and Sue: seven grandchildren, Nate, Kate, Jordan, Emmery, Mackenzie, Olivia, and Hayden; three great-grandchildren, Cayden, Scarlett, and Xavier; and brother, Harlan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ankeny First United Methodist Church or the Marvin & Carol Bigbee Agricultural Engineering Completion Grant – Iowa State University.
