The world lost a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, Jeanne Price, on February 24, 2022. Jeanne, 75, of Ankeny, Iowa died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, at the Edencrest at Siena Hills Assisted Living facility.

Jeanne was born November 20, 1946, in Mexico, Missouri to Woodrow and Olive Bealmer. She was a 1964 graduate of Mexico High School and a 1968 graduate of Northeast Missouri State College (now Truman State University). She was married March 2, 1974, to her husband, Casey Price, in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Jeanne was an outstanding elementary school teacher, teaching in school districts in Boulder, Colorado. St. Louis, Missouri; Omaha, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; and Des Moines, Iowa. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Hope in Ankeny, Iowa and was a devout Christian and could always be found with a Bible in her hands.

Of all things she loved, Jeanne was most passionate about her family and the activities they were involved in; being a mother and grandmother was by far her favorite role, and the one she took the most pride in. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Grandma”. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was immensely proud of them. Jeanne also had a musical background and turned to her piano for added enjoyment. She had a deep love for animals and spent the latter years of her life championing for animal rights.

Those that knew Jeanne, knew her vivacious personality and her ability to make people around her laugh, whether intentionally or not! She was a fierce “Mama Bear” and was unwavering in her beliefs and convictions. Jeanne was an impassioned “firecracker” until the very end, and she will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Casey Price of Ankeny, Iowa; a son, Jason Price of San Diego; daughter, Julie Price of Ankney, son-in-law, Jason Heiden of Ankeny; and granddaughters Kora and Mallory Heiden of Ankeny, Iowa.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
