Melissa E. Berry

May 2, 1972 - April 24, 2021

Melissa E. Berry, 48 of Ankeny, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). The family respectfully requests that all in attendance wear masks and practice social distancing. Melissa will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in a private graveside service at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Melissa was born May 2, 1972 in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1992.

Melissa enjoyed dancing to her music and watching her favorite TV shows. She was a repeat participant in Special Olympics, and she earned several medals in basketball. Melissa never met a stranger, always ready for a high five or a hug. Melissa treasured her summers spent in Arkansas with her grandparents “Mom and Pop”.

Melissa was grateful for her time spent with Easter Seals and Link Associates. She enjoyed the ability to live independently in her hometown of Ankeny.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Ed and Julie Berry of Maxwell; her brothers, Ed Jr (Jo) Berry and Shane Berry, both of Ankeny; her sisters, Suzanne (Jason) Rosonke of Urbandale and Shannon (Brent) Miltner of Eagan, MN; and her nieces, Dena Berry, Cheyenne Berry, Kacey Berry, Lucy Berry, MaKenna Rosonke, Natalie Rosonke, and Adalynn Miltner. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, G.C. and Mary Berry.
