Merideth “Willie” Wilcox, 81, formally of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on New Year’s Day 2024.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) for friends and family to gather and celebrate Merideth’s life.

Born on Christmas Eve of 1942 to Kathryn and Myron Wilcox, Merideth was the youngest of three boys. Merideth graduated from Cedar High school in 1960. He had three beautiful children, Sherri, Todd and Kim from his first marriage.

Merideth worked at Western Electric where he met his bride, Diana Jasa, formerly of Malcolm, NE. They were married in 1968. They went on to have two more children, Travis and Tiffany. Merideth and Diana would have celebrated 55 years together this July.

Merideth went on to become an extremely successful salesman for Winnebago software and many other educational sales partnerships until his retirement in 2018. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, and a lover of all things history. Merideth was an enthusiastic and loyal supporter of St. Joseph’s Native American school, Animal Rescue league of Iowa and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

He had a passion for engaging in conversations with people whether it was at a sales conference or sitting at the dining room table. He could light up a room with his  smile and will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family and his dynamic personality. Merideth always pressed the importance of being true to oneself. His family will continue to pass on his bright light and values through the remainder of their time.

Merideth is survived by his wife, Diana Wilcox; and his children, Todd (Kris) Wilcox of Barneston, Kim Petersen of Barneston, Travis Wilcox of Ankeny, and Tiffany (Michael) Fox of Grimes; grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Lyon, Andra (Ben) Hoffman, Jesse (Brian) Lemerond, Lucas (special friend, Katie), Daniel (Katie) Loop, Josh (Amanda) Kushen, Jordan Kushen, Makayla (Isaiah) Evans, Gracie Wilcox, Dawson Wiemann, Maverick Fox, Wyatt Fox, and Laramie Fox; and great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Jacob, Brenden, Bailey, Mia, Joey, Brenlee, Blaise, Barrett, Vance, Brooke, Isabel, and Christian.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Kushen; son-in-law, Bill Petersen; brothers, Lawrence and Kenny Wilcox; and parents, Myron and Kathryn Wilcox.
