Ruth E. Stall, 80, of Elkhart passed away March 23, 2015.
A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 27th at the Ankeny Memorial Chapel (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., following the visitation.
Ruth was born April 29, 1934 on the farm near Elkhart, Iowa.
She graduated from Alleman High School in 1952. She then went to work as a bookkeeper for a small insurance company in Des Moines for six years.
She was married to Dean Stall on February 15, 1958. Together, they returned back to the farm where Ruth was born, and raised their three children.
Ruth enjoyed crochet, sewing, quilting, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, watching the birds she fed outside her window, cheering on ISU basketball, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Kathryn Law; and two sisters, Nadine Johnson and Marilyn Moeckly.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dean; her three children, Ray (Shari) Stallof Huxley, Sue (Al) Burns of Clive, and Del (Robyn) Stall of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Scott Stall, Stephanie (Scott) Evangelista, Jacob Stall, Josh Stall, SamStall, and Lillianna Stall; and a great-granddaughter, Sloane Evangelista.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Saint Jude Hospice, our Methodist Church family, and the thoughts and prayers of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ankeny First United Methodist Church Faith Chapel.
