Patricia Ann Riggs, 77, of Des Moines passed away March 2, 2016.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Cornerstone Church in Altoona (410 S.W. 17th Ave.)
Patricia was born June 25, 1938 in Madison County, Iowa, the youngest of 15 children.
She was a strong independent pioneer woman. She enjoyed hunting squirrels, shooting rattlesnakes, fishing, bingo, playing cards, bird and squirrel watching, western movies, and her favorite color was orange.
She was a child care provider for her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Rosa Coverdale, Joy (Leon)Purscell, Joe (Terri Hartsell-Lamb) (Cindy Lawyer) Hartsell), Bob Hartsell (Dena), April Edwards(Greg) , Arnie (Annette) Riggs, and Sarah Lewis; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Lou (William) Lemon, and 1 brother, Arthur D. Brobst.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 12 siblings.
