Pat was born November 24, 1941, to Oscar and Lottie (Rold) Jensen in Harlan, Iowa. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1960. She was a homemaker for many years before she started her Decorating Den business. In 1997, Pat retired from her Decorating Den business and continued to enjoy creating many wonderful experiences for her family.
She enjoyed being a great mother by supporting and nurturing her kids. She was a source of comfort and knowledge for many family members. They were always stopping by to share their hopes, fears, and concerns knowing she always had time to listen and provide great insights. She established life-long relationships with friends by having a social calendar that was always full with coffees, lunches, and bridge dates. She created Martha Stewart-like holiday events with her family of thirty-plus. Coming from a small family, she endeavored to create a very well-connected and engaged family as demonstrated through her relationships with family members. She had impeccable taste in clothing and was always dressed beautifully. Her passion for decorating was evident as you walked in her home, always worthy of a Better Homes and Garden magazine. She will be forever remembered for passing down what it takes to have a great family to her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Dennis; and her parents, Oscar and Lottie Jensen. She is survived by her children, Todd (Karla) Brazelton, Deb (Ben) Gaulke, and Gary (Jen) Brazelton; grandchildren, Dave Brazelton, Kristin (Josh) Savage, Nathan (Rachelle) Gaulke, Lauren (Bryce) Schweitzer, Logan (Kindra) Gaulke, Gloria (Adam) Krueger, Jacob (Candace) Brazelton, Tanner Dake, Keely Dake, Zoey Brazelton, and Levi Brazelton; great-grandchildren, Bodie Brazelton, Trenton Savage, Camden Savage, Maddox Savage, Blake Savage, Mackenzie Gaulke, Jason Gaulke, Brooklyn Gaulke, Nolan Gaulke, Lydia Gaulke, and Barrett Schweitzer; brothers-in-law, Dan Brazelton, Jim (Elaine) Brazelton; and sister-in-law, Elaine (Bob) Costello.
