Raymond Albert Romick, 93, of Alleman passed away February 25, 2016 in the care of VA Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., February 29, 2016 at the Ankeny Church of The Brethren (417 S.E. Grant St., Ankeny)
A visitation will be held 3-5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28th, at Ankeny Memorial Chapel (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.)
Ray was born March 8, 1922 in Colfax, Iowa to Charles Landis and Verna Oco Romick. He graduated from Prairie City High School, and then attended AIB College, in Des Moines.
He then went to Washington D.C. and worked for the FBI, and later joined the Army and served during World War II in the Battle of The Bulge, and then was deployed to the Philippines.
Before he went into the service he met his wife of 72 years, Betty Reynolds.
After returning from the service, Ray and Betty made their home in Ankeny. There they raised their 3 children, and later moved to Alleman, Iowa
Ray worked for Corwin Cleaners for 27 years as a route driver, he later purchased a Service Master franchise which he operated for 20 years, until his retirement, and turned the business over to his son.
He is survived by his wife Betty, 2 children, Linda (Norman) Moorehead of Bivins, Texas, and Steve (Joyce) Romick of Alleman, IA ; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Tom; and many Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Dianne Aust; a granddaughter, Tanya Aust; and 7 siblings.
