Dick and I coached senior league baseball together for 3 years. His son, Jeff, played on our team. Dick was certainly a tactician and student of the game. This was 41 years past and we have remained dear friends since. Later, we served together on the Ankeny zoning board of adjustment. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
