Robin Naylor, 63, of Ankeny, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 after contracting Covid-19 while recovering from emergency surgery in the hospital following a twelve-month battle with an aggressive auto-immune disorder.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd) on Thursday, November 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and will be open to the public. A private burial ceremony will be held at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Robin graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1976. A Registered Nurse, she worked in healthcare for over forty years in various capacities, including Dermatology Assoc., a school nurse in Ankeny, as Regional Health & Safety manager with UPS, and the past fourteen years as Senior Clinic Administrator for North Ankeny UnityPoint Family Practice/Urgent Care.

Robin is survived by her dedicated husband of 29 years, Mike Eilander; children, Brook (Jacob) Otto, Teale Burford (Drew Westberg), and Derek Eilander; and four siblings, Jennie (John) Johnson, Sue (Jeff) Westberg, Lindsay Naylor, and Shannon (Rod) Chyma. She was preceded in death by her husband of ten years, Mike Burford; and parents, Fred and Shirley Naylor.

She loved gardening, flowers, and music, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Planning for her spring flower garden got her through Iowa’s bitter winters. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows, Harley rides with Mike, and spoiling her grandchildren rotten. Her favorite times were family gatherings, and her greatest joy was her four grandchildren, Gabriel, Lily, June, and Michael.

Memorials can be directed to On With Life in Ankeny.
