Roger was born on the September 17, 1947, to Jack and Elaine Cory in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Elkhart, Iowa and graduated from North Polk High School. Roger then moved to Kansas to complete trade school for auto repair. Soon after he moved back to Iowa and pursued several careers before becoming a Pepsi repair man for the next 40 years.

Roger was a very spiritual man who enjoyed the company of his loved ones along with all the people he met. Roger was graced with a kidney transplant on New Year’s Day 2013 that enabled him to enjoy several more years with his family. In 2014 he was honored with a year as Grand Chaplin of the Order of Eastern Star. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast and had an appreciation for westerns. Roger was a pillar of the Elkhart community and spent his free time maintaining his pop machine and generously giving out pop to those who stopped.

After Roger retired from Pepsi, he missed the company of others, so he went back to work as a greeter at Walmart. He was always seen with a smile and kind words, whether it was family or a complete stranger, until the day he died. Roger was an angel on Earth and God gets to have him back.

Roger is survived by his mother, Elaine; and other family and friends. He is joined in death with father, Jack; brother, Randy; first wife, Doris; and second wife, Paula.
