Roxanne Marie Stockwell

July 11, 1955 - February 6, 2022

Roxanne Marie Stockwell, 66, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, peacefully at home with her family by her side after an extended illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Memorial Services of Iowa Funeral Home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd).

Roxanne was born to Lester and Phyllis Metz on July 11, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Dowling High School in 1973. She later married Daniel Stockwell and had one child, Karen. They remained in the Des Moines area her entire life.

Roxanne retired from Nationwide Insurance in 2015 after 25 years but rejoined the work force in April of 2016 at BH Management. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, and reading in her spare time. She was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed listening to music.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dan; daughter, Karen (Jason) Bender; grandchildren, Will, Libby and Ella; sister, Rhonda (Joe) Kimrey; brothers, Roger (Deb) Metz, Randy (Gigi) Metz, and Ray (Kim) Metz; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, she requested contributions to be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
