Sarah Cooke, 36, of Ankeny, a loving mother, daughter, and sister, died unexpectedly on July 2, 2018.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N Ankeny Blvd).
A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30a.m., Saturday, July 7 at the Christian Life Center, 710 NE 36th St, Ankeny.
Sarah was born in Des Moines on February 13, 1982. She graduated from Boone High School in 2000. She attended UNI and went on to graduate from DMACC with a degree in Nursing in 2009.
Sarah worked as an RN at Lakeview Surgery Center in West Des Moines, IA. On December 12, 2005 and September 19, 2014 respectively, she welcomed her son Roben and her daughter Devyn, who were the most important part of her life.
Sarah was a devoted mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially loved being an Aunt to her 6 nieces and nephews. She was a passionate nurse who made a difference in the lives of the many patients she cared for. When Sarah wasn’t working she could be found frequenting TJ Maxx and Target as an expert bargain finder. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Sarah is survived by her parents, John and Jerri Grush; her children, Roben John and Devyn Monroe; her sisters, Lindsey (Travis) Yordi, and Jill (Tom) Willardson, along with her nieces and nephew and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Bob and Elaine Kennedy, Joyce Grush, Mark Grush, and Ruby Grush.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for Sarah’s children’s future education.
