Shannon Lee (Cahill) Lamberti, 58, passed away in her home in Ankeny on March 26, 2022.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by an interment at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Shannon was born on June 30, 1963 in Mason City, Iowa, to Pat and Jim Cahill. They moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where her siblings were born. She later moved to Ankeny, Iowa with her parents and siblings and grew up surrounded by love and friendship with her “4th Street Family.” She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1981 and received an Associate’s Degree from DMACC in 1983. She worked as a legal assistant until she welcomed her first child. She thereafter dedicated her life to raising her two beautiful children. They brought the most joy to her and she was always very proud of them and their accomplishments.
She dutifully attended every performance and sport you can imagine—and there were many! She hosted countless sleepovers and her kitchen table was always the central hub for her kids and their friends. She cherished every moment she had with them, even when she had to tell them that snapping turtles didn’t make the greatest house pets.
Shannon loved her family and friends with her entire heart, and touched more lives than she’ll ever know. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and animal lover.
Shannon was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pat and Jim Cahill. She is survived by Jeff Lamberti and their children, Meredith (Tim Lenox) Lamberti and Domenic (Eloise Hyman) Lamberti; her siblings, Shelley Starr, Scott (Amber) Cahill, and Steven Cahill; and many nieces and nephews.
