Tom Davidson, 71, of Ankeny, IA, passed away on January 27, 2024, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA) Friday, February 9, 2024. Visitation with family present will begin at 9:30 AM. Prayer service will begin at 10:30 AM. Private burial will be for immediate family members at Brethren Cemetery in Elkhart after the service.

Tom was born September 1, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Ellen (Ellis) Davidson. Tom grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Saydel High School in 1970. Tom married Catherine Lenaghan in 1977 and moved to Granger, Iowa where they had four children. Tom moved to Ankeny, Iowa in 1991 and married Anita Landis in 2000 and remained until her passing in 2021.

Tom was a diesel mechanic starting at the age of 18 and worked in the trade for over 44 years, retiring from Freightliner of Des Moines in 2015. He enjoyed anything with a motor and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. He was a registered member of the Ryan Newman fan club.

Tom is survived by his children, Mike (Megan) Davidson, Jenni (Jason) Cooper, Kevin (Amy) Davidson, Becky (Nick) Gorell, Angela Brown, Christopher Landis, and Ronda (Jeremy) Bernath; 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Jean (Dean) Thomas; Sister-in-law, Donna (Bill) Davidson.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anita; brother Bill; mother Ellen and father Charles.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that instead spend the value for a special event or dinner with family, especially their children.
