Tom Shafer

Tom Robert Shafer, 84, passed away March 25, 2021 at his home in Ankeny. He was born in Hartford, Ohio to Robert and Mary Lou (Payne) Shafer. He worked for many years as an electrical engineer for Rockwell Collins.

Tom is survived by his wife, Diana (Bearbower) Shafer; son, Todd (Rose) Shafer of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Sarah Shafer of Dubuque, IA and Ben Shafer of Ames, IA; brother, Joe (Donna Jean) Shafer of Crystal River, FL; nephews, Bob Shafer and John Shafer; and niece, Laura Wilder

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ann Wilder of Tallahassee, FL.
